House
Concerts are
a wonderful way to support the Boston Public Quartet while enjoying an
intimate chamber music concert in your living room!
House Concerts can take on a variety of formats, including:
~
Get the Word Out. Guests are treated to a few movements
of chamber
music, and can listen to quartet members speak about their teaching and
mission. Note: Guests will not be directly solicited for donations.
~
Formal Concert. A more traditional concert by the
quartet, with
informational speaking about mission and activities before and after
the performance. A basket for donations as well as information packets
will be made available.
~
Benefit Concert. Guests are asked to provide a suggested
donation for
attendance, and the concert and presentation can be as formal or
informal as the host desires.
Hosts
are asked to provide refreshments and invitations.
A
few words of praise from house concert hosts:
"What
a wonderful way to bring together people who care about music and
education. The music is beautiful and the conversation
stimulating."
-
Kimberly, Brookline
"What
a delight to have an afternoon of music in my home and to see first
hand (from the video tape) the joyful faces of the children who are
participating in the music classes provided by Betsy and the Boston
Public Quartet. It was truly an unforgettable occasion."
